Psychological Testing
Psychological tests are written, visual, or verbal evaluations administered to assess the cognitive and emotional functioning of children and adults. Psychological tests are used to assess a variety of mental abilities and attributes, including achievement and ability, personality, as well as neurological functioning.
Neuro Psychological Assessments
Neuropsychological tests are specifically designed tasks used to measure a psychological function known to be linked to a particular brain structure or pathway.
Diagnostic Evaluations
Psychologists use tests and other assessment tools to measure and observe a client’s behavior to arrive at a diagnosis and guide treatment.
Parenting Assessments
A parenting assessment is a detailed, community based assessment designed to identify potential risks to the child (e.g. child sex abuse, neglect, emotional / physical abuse, drug abuse). The risk assessment relies on information gathered from the child, parents and extended family and professional network.
ADHD & Psycho-Educational Assessments
Learning disabilities and ADHD can affect all people-children, adolescents and adults. They do not discriminate based on gender, race or socioeconomic status. LD and ADHD are life-long disabilities. Psycho/Educational assessment is necessary to accurately diagnose LD, ADHD and identify a treatment plan.
When the psychological and educational testing are included in an overall assessment of a person it is called a psycho/educational assessment. Psycho/educational assessments help document the information processing dysfunctions found with LD and ADHD that significantly negatively impact on academic achievement.
We offer Saturday appointments to accommodate difficult schedules. Each Psych-Educational assessment will include a detailed section of recommendations regarding treatment and plan of action.
Bariatric Assessments
Quality Counseling offers Bariatric assessments as well as counseling to individuals and families who are faced with the hard choice/ process of Bariatric surgeries.
A bariatric assessment is a thorough evaluation that include a three step process: A clinical interview, Psychological testing and report/ recommendation reviewing.
The number and length of sessions will vary depending on each case and the kind of tests that were administered.
Personnel & Fitness for Duty Assessment
Personnel & fitness for duty assessments provide concrete information regarding employees’ abilities, risk factors, and assist in planning for return to work.
Typically, a Fitness for Duty Evaluation requires an extended interview between the employee and the doctor. On most occasions, the evaluation will include psychological testing beyond the face-to-face evaluation. The evaluation will cover background information, salient issues that led to the request for the evaluation, mental status, risk factors, and review of treatment to date.
In addition, our psychologist(s) typically consult with the employer and/or other important “collateral” sources of information about employees’ behavior.
After the evaluation takes place, a written report will be generated and discussed with patients.
